How we spec it._
Wall-mount racks (4U-15U) suit IDF closets and small offices — confirm depth against the deepest device (a 400 mm cabinet won't take a full-depth UPS). Floor-standing racks (18U-42U) go in server rooms; spec perforated doors plus a cooling-fan tray for active gear, glass doors only for passive/patching cabinets. Open frames cut cost and improve airflow where physical security isn't a concern. For outdoor sites, the IP55 enclosures handle dust and water jets but not submersion — add a thermostat-controlled fan or heat exchanger in direct-sun installs. Always size the PDU and load budget (~35 kg on wall-mount) before populating.
