Overview
What this brand is._
Dr.com is a structured-cabling brand built around a complete CAT6 copper range, with CAT5e and CAT6A available alongside. Cable ships in UTP (unshielded), FTP (foiled), and SFTP (shielded-foiled) constructions, in 23 and 24 AWG solid bare copper, and across five jacket types — PVC, LSZH, PE outdoor, double-coated, and armoured — so one brand covers an office patch run, an outdoor pole-to-pole link, and an industrial floor. The copper is rated for Gigabit Ethernet at 250 MHz with low crosstalk, is PoE-compatible, and is Fluke-tested for performance and compliance. For Y5, Dr.com is the cable on the reel behind every Wi-Fi, surveillance, and access-control install.
One CAT6 brand for every environment — UTP/FTP/SFTP in 23/24 AWG, with PVC, LSZH, PE-outdoor, double-coated, and armoured jackets. Solid bare copper, 250 MHz, PoE-ready, and Fluke-tested, so the cable layer never bottlenecks the network.

Y5 position
Why we stock them._
Cable is where networks quietly fail, and copper-clad-aluminium look-alikes wreck PoE budgets and certification. Dr.com gives Y5 honest solid-bare-copper CAT6 with the jacket and shielding range to match the run — LSZH in occupied buildings, PE or armoured outdoors, SFTP on factory floors — all Fluke-testable. Quoting Dr.com alongside the switches, APs, and cameras already on the BoQ means the structured-cabling layer is specified, warrantied, and certified by the same partner that designs the network, not left to whatever cable the site contractor pulls off a local reel.

What sets them apart
Key differentiators._
- Full CAT6 matrix — UTP/FTP/SFTP × 23/24 AWG × five jacket types
- Solid bare copper conductors (not CCA) for honest DC resistance and PoE headroom
- 250 MHz bandwidth with low crosstalk; Fluke-tested per construction
- Jacket options for every site — PVC, LSZH, PE outdoor, double-coated, armoured
- PoE-compatible across the range for cameras, APs, and IP phones

Hero products
What we ship most._
CAT6 UTP (23 AWG)
Solid bare copper, 250 MHz, up to 1 Gbps, low crosstalk, PoE-compatible.
CAT6 FTP
Foiled twisted pair for added EMI rejection in noisy runs.
CAT6 SFTP
Shielded-foiled twisted pair for industrial and high-interference sites.
CAT6 PE / Armoured
PE-outdoor and steel-armoured jackets for external and rodent-prone routes.
CAT6A (23 AWG)
10G-capable copper for backbone and high-throughput links.

Engineering notes
How we spec it._
Pick the jacket to the environment: PVC for general indoor, LSZH for occupied/return-air spaces (low smoke, halogen-free), PE for outdoor UV/moisture runs, armoured where rodents or mechanical damage are a risk. UTP is fine for most office drops; step to FTP/SFTP only near heavy EMI (motors, lift shafts, factory floors) and bond the shield at one end to avoid ground loops. 23 AWG gives lower DC resistance and better PoE/PoE+ headroom over distance than 24 AWG — prefer it for camera and AP runs near the 100 m limit. Always Fluke-certify channels before handover.

History
How they got here._
Dr.com ("Patch Perfect") is a structured-cabling brand with a manufacturing focus on copper data cable — CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A — plus a wider fibre, connector, and accessory range. The CAT6 line is the core: solid bare copper in 23 and 24 AWG, offered in UTP, FTP, and SFTP across PVC, LSZH, PE-outdoor, double-coated, and armoured jackets, with published spec sheets and Fluke test data per construction. Y5 stocks Dr.com as the cable layer beneath the networking and surveillance hardware it deploys, matching jacket and shielding to each environment instead of forcing one cable type onto every job.
