Challenge
What was broken._
An 18-seat broadcast post-production studio outgrew its SATA-SSD storage tier — editors were waiting on proxy renders and the SAN couldn't keep up with concurrent 4K timelines. The team needed a hot-tier NVMe expansion sized for current load plus 18 months of growth, with brand-name reliability for tender documentation.

Solution
What we did._
Samsung PM9A3 datacenter NVMe SSDs across the storage controller's hot tier, Samsung DDR5 ECC RDIMM in the new compute nodes, and a planned migration window that kept the studio operational during evening-shift cuts.

Results
The outcomes, measured._
- Proxy render wait times reduced from 90s avg to under 8s
- 480 TB hot-tier NVMe deployed without studio downtime
- Editor satisfaction survey: 9.1/10 post-deployment vs 5.4 prior
“The first day with the new storage, three editors finished their cuts an hour early. That's never happened.”
