Live deployment footage — 3PL Logistics Operator, Bhiwandi - Multi-site
(01)
Challenge
What was broken._
A 3PL operator's four warehouse-cluster offices each needed local NAS for WMS backups, CCTV archive overflow, and shift-log retention — replicated to a central hub for disaster recovery. The previous deployment used mixed drives across vendors and was failing weekly, with no warranty path on commodity drives.

Solution
What we did._
Standardised Synology RS1221+ rackmount NAS at each site, populated with WD Red Pro 18TB drives in SHR-2 (96 drives total across 4 sites, 720 TB net usable). Hyper Backup replication scheduled overnight to the Bhiwandi hub. Standardised SKU means hot-spares are interchangeable across all sites.

Results
The outcomes, measured._
- Drive failures dropped from ~weekly to 1 in 10 months
- Full WMS backup window cut from 6 hours to under 90 minutes
- Inter-site DR replication completes nightly within window
“Standardising on one drive SKU across four sites was the move. Spares are interchangeable, RMA is one process, and the failure rate just collapsed.”
